TIR (Transports Internationaux Routiers) is an international system for the road transport of goods, based on the Customs Convention on the International Transport of Goods under Cover of TIR Carnets.
The main goal of the TIR system is to simplify and speed up customs control procedures when crossing borders.
This is achieved through the use of a TIR Carnet, which allows goods to pass through multiple countries without undergoing customs inspection in each one.
The TIR system operates in more than 60 countries, including Russia and CIS countries.
It helps minimize border delays and ensures the security of transported goods.
A TIR Carnet covers up to €60,000 in customs duties. For cargo exceeding this value, an additional customs guarantee must be arranged.
TIR Carnets are issued by the Latvian Road Transport Directorate to carriers who are registered members.
The TIR Carnet must be filled out in typed format.
Our declarants will professionally fill out the TIR Carnet based on the accompanying cargo documentation.
