The Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation has been forced to change the procedure for using Carnets de Passages en Douane (CPD) throughout the territory of the Russian Federation since August 14, 2013.
In practice, this means that each transportation of goods in/through Russia will be subject to measures to ensure compliance with customs transit, provided for in paragraph 1 of Article 217 of the Customs Code of the Customs Union.
The payment of customs duties, taxes can be provided in any of the ways provided for by the customs legislation of the Customs Union - cash (money), bank guarantee, surety or property pledge.
Surety as a way of ensuring the payment of customs duties, taxes is the most flexible and less costly for the carrier, as it does not require the deposit of due amounts, the pledge of goods and vehicles.
